Cup of Memories

An evening over a cup of coffee
Stirring in amusement and quest
Sipping and taking a moment.
Takes me to the sands of time,
Pieces of life that breathe on and will never fade.
Memories to glance at with curiosity,
Memories so refreshing, and adventurous;
Memories flavoured with sweetness, warmth and togetherness,
Memories packed with love, kindness, and laughter,
Memories with a shade of hate, fights and patching up,
Memories of hardships, troubles and insecurities.
Nothing to be remorseful for or elicit joy in particular
Except to see how far we have traveled
How substantial the change has been
Feeling each sip’s aroma and its flavour,
Echoes back as long I am In touch with human needs,
Respond to my intuitions, and able to self evaluate .
I will always and forever know
That even though each day would be a new song
I can sing it with more strength and courage.

Lovely poem! You know, I live my life thru pleasent memories and sip at least 4 cups of coffee a day! Naturally, this one was appealing to me!!!

In a Friend I can see a second self
